Educational organisations and establishments have several choices when deciding which Content Management System (CMS) to use. Choosing the right CMS for your organisation is something which you need to think about, explore and research. In a previous article, we compared Concrete5 and WordPress, then in another one, we compared WordPress to Drupal. But if you are an educational establishment which is thinking of using Drupal then let us share with you other educational organisations which are already using the popular CMS.
Educational Organisations Using Drupal
University College London
This was a Drupal project which was developed by Code Enigma, an agency located in London.
Helping a University develop a content management system UCL is London’s leading multidisciplinary university, with 11000 staff, 35000 students and an annual income of over £1bn. Code Enigma worked with their internal team to build a CMS that ultimately powered hundreds of sites.
They started to build the new CMS platform using a mixed team of our and UCL’s developers. The logic being that their team needed to maintain and extend the site once we were no longer fully involved. (Also, the internal team had no experience of Drupal). This was one of a number of projects where we mentored the internal team, such as Wellcome Trust, Oxford Council, and Redactive Media.
There are more education-related case studies which talk about other projects from various agencies and technologies listed on the site. For more details please head over to our education page.

Drupal Open Source CMS & Integrations
Because Drupal is so flexible it allows organisations to be able to integrate into other business-critical applications which are important to them, such as their CRM. To find out more about Drupal and how it could help your organisation please contact a Drupal specialist which is listed on our website. Some of the colleges and universities which are listed have multiple installations of Drupal. Some of them use Drupal to run their main website, some use Drupal as their intranet system or are running another installation on a subdomain.
